Oh, What a Night! No, it's not late September back in '63, but an awesome night to play softball. The Gremlins came out swinging and did so most of the night including a three-run homer by you-know-who otherwise know as Greg Taylor, but in the end came up short by a score of 27-17 to High and Tight. The Gremlins took a three-run lead in the first inninng, but struggled in the second as High and Tight looked to walk on base, and I lost my rhythm and walked in almost 11 runs. It's hard to say whether they would have scored that many if I could find the plate that inning because in the later innings it didn't seem to matter; they hit the ball whereever they wanted. I would like to have that inning back, but give the other team credit for using the strategy; it worked. If you check the standings (I put a new button in under the girl with the coffee), you'll notice they are 2-0. Let's hope they move up to the next level. Not that they're that good, but who needs to deal with some of the egos, attitudes, and whinning on the team. I'm sure they're not all like that, and I don't ever want to allow my ego to swell back to the level of my former playing days. It looks like that, and I hated it. I remember how easy it was to get sucked into the drama and then I felt like C - - - afterwards. I, also, feel people are watching and know we are teachers. I think it's important we show we can maintain our composure even if everyone else is losing theirs. I don't allow students to suck me in to the drama, so I'm not going to allow adults either. We need some work; we'll have more fun because this is a "perfect" team. I saw some great hits that I will always remember. I heard people laugh, and I thank God I can still run the bases.
